Elks "Make a Stink" About Beano - Bill Allows Slots

The Elks are finding it hard to "squeak out" many dollars from beano games lately. Beano, more commonly known as Bingo, once provided a primary source of funding for their charitable programs.  But ever since the opening of Hollywood Slots (now Hollywood Casino), non-profits like the Elks Club, American Legion and VFW have seen a decline in revenues which they attribute to the presence of casino gambling.  Many are ready to "cut loose" from beano, supporting a bill that would allow such groups to operate as many as five slot machines at their locations. Though the bill faces opposition, unless something "backfires," the bill is expected to earn "final passage" in the Senate.
