Civil War Bangorians Threw Heavy Objects from Windows
Throwing a printing press out of a fourth-story window and then setting it on fire was definitely one for the Bangor history books. So much so, that on Tuesday, May 22 at 12pm, this historic scene will be re-enacted right where it happened, in West Market Square. In a collaboration with the Bangor Museum & History Center, Bangor High School drama students will be using stage props and period dress to re-enact the 1861 mob scene attack. The event is free with a rain date scheduled for Thursday, May 24.
