The New Bangor Farmers Market and the Buy Local Scene

It was only three years ago that the Ohio Street Farmers Market opened up with great success.  Now, due to a collaboration with the city and local farms, Bangor is about to have a full-on Sunday market.  The Bangor Farmers Market will be located across from the Bangor Public Library in Abbott Square and from the list of vendors, it looks like it's going to be fantastic!  There will be high-quality fresh, local foods like organic produce, plants, meats, cheeses, fruits, herbs, breads, cakes, eggs, yarn, and more.  Opening day is Sunday, June 3 from 12pm-3pm. But if Sundays don't work for you, don't despair. Here's a list of other places in Bangor where you can satisfy your craving for farm-fresh local:

Central Street Farmhouse - CSA shares via Ripley Farm, dairy
Free Range Farmtruck - Delivers to Greater Bangor Area
Ohio Street Farmers Market - Wednesdays, 2pm-6pm starting June 6
Ingrid's European Farmers Market - Saturdays, 8:30am-12:30pm
Bangor Farmers Market - Sundays, 12pm-3pm through November
Natural Living Center - farm-fresh food out by the mall
Hannaford Supermarkets  -  MooMilk and other local foods
