"Brave" Hollywood Stars To Eat Haggis from W.A. Bean & Sons

W.A. Bean & Sons,Bangor,Maine,store,meat
Local meat processor, W.A. Bean & Sons, has been chosen by celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck to supply haggis for a Hollywood party in Los Angeles. Haggis, a pudding containing sheep's heart, liver, and lungs encased in sheep stomach is a traditional Scottish dish that is illegal to import into the US due to a ban on food containing sheep lung. The Bangor-produced haggis will be served at the premiere party for the Disney/Pixar Movie "Brave" which takes place in 10th century Scotland. Haggis is traditionally served with "neeps and tatties" but since LA has plenty of those, an outside source was not needed.

Bangor Skate Park Relocated Between Union Street & Maine Ave

As promised, the City has brought back Bangor's skate park. Previously located at Bass Park, the skate park is now located between Union Street and Maine Ave near the Bangor recycling center.  The City was stoked when they realized that by digging down a few feet, they could re-use a concrete slab that remained from an old Dow Air Force Base building. The old slab now forms the base of the park while gnarly edges decorate the perimeter where the hole was dug. The facility can be accessed by car from Maine Ave near "What's the Scoop? Cafe."
